Work with me

Content written
for humans, by one

I work with a handful of clients at a time to ensure I deliver high-quality work to each one. While I do use AI to speed up my process and streamline my research, every piece is ultimately written and edited by me. If you want content that your audience will actually want to read, this is where it gets made.

Long-form articles and content

In-depth pieces built to hold attention from the first sentence to the last. Diligently researched and crafted to talk to your specific audience. Nothing generic or templated here.

Good for: thought leadership, industry publications, content marketing, brand journalism, explainers

Brand storytelling and website copy

The stuff that defines how your brand sounds and what it stands for. Copy that makes people trust you before they’ve tried you, because it sounds like a person, not a press release.

Good for: website copy, brand narratives, about pages, campaign copy, company announcements

Newsletters and recurring content

Regular content builds and sustains loyal readers over time, if you get it right. My weekly newsletter is currently reaching 40,000 readers who can’t wait for the next one.

Good for: email newsletters, recurring columns, subscriber-focussed content

Ghostwriting

You know exactly what you want to say. You just need a little help saying it well. Perfect for founders or executives who want to communicate their ideas distinctively and consistently.

Good for: executive thought leadership, keynote scripts, opinion pieces, book proposals

How it works

Simple, direct, no surprises

01
Brief

We’ll talk through what you need, who you’re writing for and what you hope to achieve. This is the part where I ask a lot of questions.

02
Proposal

I’ll follow up with a clear proposal, timeline and fee, so there are no surprises later.

03
Writing

This is the part where you sit back and I get to work. I research, write and edit, and you receive a complete, polished piece.

04
Revisions

One round of revisions is included. You probably won’t even need them. More than one round is possible, but expect an additional fee.

What clients say

In their own words

Dominique is a skilled wordsmith with a knack for writing easily-digestible and engaging content that not only speaks to people but also to search engines. She has proven to be adept at interpreting briefs with such great precision and delivering such well-structured content that the need for revision is often minimal.

Armandt de Villiers
Senior Content Strategist, Cheymaxim

Dominique is so much more than just a ghost writer. Her ideation is fantastic and she will elevate any piece she touches. Her weekly column on Ghost Mail is extremely popular and led to the launch of Ghost Mail Weekender, a Sunday mailer which has been well received.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Do you work with international clients?
Yes. While I’m based in Cape Town (GMT+2), I work with clients across South Africa and internationally. Most client relationships work entirely remotely via email and video call.
Do you use AI in your writing process?
I use AI tools to assist with research and to speed up parts of my process, but every piece I deliver is written and edited by me. You’re paying for human craft, judgment and voice.
What does a typical project look like?
We start with a brief call or email to understand your needs. I then send a clear proposal with scope, timeline and fee. Once agreed, I research, write and deliver a polished piece. One round of revisions is included as standard.
What types of businesses do you work with?
I work with brands of all sizes, from founders and individual executives to established businesses. My clients tend to value quality over volume and understand that good writing is an investment.
How do you charge?
I work on a per-project basis for once-off work, and on a monthly retainer for clients with ongoing content needs. Fees are quoted per brief because the right price depends on what the work actually requires.
How quickly can you turn around a piece?
It depends on the length and complexity, but I’ll always agree a clear deadline before starting. I don’t overpromise on turnaround times, which is why I rarely miss them.
Can I see examples of your work before hiring you?
Yes. My writing page has links to published columns, articles and brand content. My weekly Ghost Mail column, which reaches 40,000 readers, is probably the best example of my voice and range.
